Slug Awareness Campaign

Seed Feeding Birds

If you're worried that seed feeding birds such as house sparrows will be harmed by slug pellets - don't.

Research has shown that birds are not attracted to pellets when other food sources are available*. This means that a sparrow has to have no other choices of food at all to be tempted to eat slug pellets. And you must agree this is highly unlikely!

Bio SLUG & SNAIL KILLER has a slug pellet code, promoting wise use of pellets, welcomed by the RSPB. To see the code click here Slug Pellet Code.

*The house sparrow tests were carried out in September 2004 at the Central Science Laboratory in York.
